Maundy (Holy) Thursday

Sunday Worship - 11AM, communion 1st sunday of the month

Apr. 14, 2022

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another” (John 13:34, NIV). Holy Thursday, or ‘Maundy’ Thursday, celebrates the final supper Jesus shared with his disciples. This even also reveals the holiness of all meals eaten in his name and institutes the mystery of his life-giving and forgiving presence in the service of Holy Communion. We celebrate this event with Communion and conclude with a Service of Shadows – a Tenebrae – which enacts the darkening of life without Christ’s living presence. This begins a prayerful period before Easter morning.
