Liverpool First United Methodist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.
Minister of Music
Bill helps us all to realize the importance of music in worship. He freely offers his years of experience in music performance and direction so that we may reach higher every Sunday Morning. Bill is always seeking to enrich and encourage the congregants to share in the music experience through their participation.
Jennifer joined the church staff at the end of September and is responsible for supporting the Finance Committee in their management of the Church finances. She resides in Liverpool with her husband Matt and her dog Emmett. She has two grown daughters, Samantha & Lexie. She likes to read and do both sudoku and jigsaw puzzles. Email Jennifer.
Administrative AssistantMichele has over 30 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, working with a variety of local employers. Michele has a passion for dancing and pursues a wide variety of crafts. On just about any nice day you can find her in her yard gardening and feeding a rabbit or squirrel. She resides in the village with her cats Laci and Franki. Email Michele.
Pastor Ray Gilman
Pastor Ray Gilman was appointed to serve as Liverpool First United Methodist Church's Senior Pastor in July of 2020. Prior to that, he served the Upper New York United Methodist Church for many years in Western New York. He is a second-career pastor who brings with him an extensive background in business, marketing, & advertising.
Pastor Gilman’s passion for the Lord and a deeper Scriptural understanding have inspired him to surrender to the Lord’s call and ‘go wherever Christ commands’ and do good work for the Kingdom of God. His heart is to be within the will of God as it is revealed in Scripture and the work of the Holy Spirit. He is a passionate preacher and enthusiastic storyteller who takes worship and preaching very seriously.
He graduated from Knox College in 1988 with a B.A. In Liberal Arts and from United Theological Seminary in 2017 with an MDiv. in Theological and Ministerial Studies emphasizing Church Revitalization. In May of 2018, Pastor Gilman was formally received by the UNYUMC annual conference as a Provisional Elder.
Pastor Gilman has been happily married for 16 years to his wife, Andrea. They have three daughters; Lexie (11), Tori (13), and Katie (15). Pastor Gilman’s oldest child, Dylan, lives and works in the Rochester area. Email Pastor Ray.
