The Youth Ministry of Liverpool First United Methodist Church

We want all of our youth to know Jesus Christ and to find their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Him. We have designed our youth ministry to deepen understanding of the greatness of our God, and to give encouragement in the pursuit of godliness. Check out our events page to see any upcoming events for the youth of Liverpool First United Methodist Church.

Sunday School

Sunday school begins at 9 AM.

(Currently on Pause due to Onondaga County Yellow Level COVID restrictions)

We ask all in attendance to wear a mask until seated and sanitize before and at the end of sessions. All classes will consider the same Scripture verses and discuss the Word at their level.

  • & 4 year-olds have a class which blends playtime with Bible story lessons.
  • Pre-k – 6th grade will use age-appropriate SparkHouse learning materials.
  • Grades 7-12 will participate in a teacher-led Bible study.
  • Parents are invited to conversation and study with the pastor in the Chapel.

Sunday school ends at 9:45 and everyone will be invited to head upstairs for Sunday Worship at 10 am.

Our nursery is staffed during Sunday School for children up to 36 months old. We have a separate area for tummy time and crawlers to play!

An Infant-Nursing Mother’s room is available for use as needed. Parents can soothe their infants and still watch service. The room is located downstairs near the Gathering room directly next to the elevator. The room offers rocking chairs, a changing table, dim lighting, and a TV quietly broadcasting the service live.

Safe Sanctuaries - Safety is our Priority

For the safety of all children, we use an ID system for all children from infant to 6th grade. Parents/guardians receive an ID tag to be used to pick up their children at the end of Sunday School. Safe Sanctuary policies are followed.

All children are required to have an adult complete a registration form on their behalf. This form allows us to know who is responsible for picking up the child and provides a contact number in case you are needed during service time.

In the unlikely event of an emergency where the church is evacuated, the pick-up zone for children will communicated to each parent. Children will remain with their Leaders until checked-out. A link will be provided to our complete Safe Sanctuary policy in the near future.

LIFE at Liverpool First

(Currently meeting on ZOOM due to Onondaga County Yellow Level COVID restrictions)

It's hard enough to be an adult in this world, even harder to make sense of everything as a teen. LIFE Group (Teens) meets every Friday from 6 - 8 pm for friendship, fun, and conversation. Through it all, we'll discover how to listen to God and not be broken by the world's pressures.

"Don't let others look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12.

Confirmation Classes:

COVID-interrupted 2020 Confirmation class regathers soon to complete!

Confirmation is a time when young adults explore what they have been taught at home and church about being a Christian. Through a process involving reading, discussion, and hands-on experiences, teens discover how to define what and why they believe.
