On 10/25 we heard from the Gospel of Matthew - Chapter 22:34-46. Pastor offers us the idea that "You Are What You Love." After much 'back-and-forth' with the Pharisees, Jesus responds to a thinly veiled attack meant to expose some religious weakness in him with profound simplicity. Religion is about loving God. More to the point, not loving some distant, disconnected God but YOUR God - a personal, deeply felt love. He even takes it farther in telling us to 'love others as we love ourselves'. Wow, if the world could get a hold of this in these divisive times!
